This year we will be cruising the rivers of the Garonne and Dordogne in France, sampling the wines of the region, the foie gras, white asparagus, truffles and visiting the many splendid chateaux of the golden ages in France.
The Garonne River
begins its journey, possibly from the Pyrenees, in Spain and flows to the sea for over 370
miles, through northern Spain and southwest France. Along the way several other
rivers flow into the Garonne, the Ariège, the Tarn, and the Lot. Lastly the
Dordogne River flows into the Garonne at Bec d'Ambès, from where the river flows into the Atlantic Ocean between the towns of Royan and Le
Verdon-sur-Mer at the coast.
The Dordogne River originates in the mountains of Auvergne at Le Mont-Dore, near to the impressive 6,200 foot peak at Puy de Sancy. From here the river flows 310 miles to the confluence with the Garonne at Bec d’Ambres.

Looks like another GREAT Murray adventure. Have fun!
